Why I Frock

Why I Frock

I’ve always loved dressing up and my wardrobe is 75% dresses and 25% basics so Frocktober suits my style perfectly. My dress collection isn’t the reason I signed up for Frocktober.

It’s because I lost someone I love to this terrible disease. What started as bloating and fullness was eventually discovered to be ovarian cancer. This cancer spread quickly and without any regard for the organs it attached itself to. The loss of my aunt (my second mum) hurt and still hurts.  Could an early detection test have saved her? Perhaps.  Could an early detection test save others like her? YES! And so I rock a frock each day in Frocktober to raise funds for a test that might just bring months, years or even a cure to those affected by this horrible cancer.

You can join me this Frocktober by:

Rocking a frock

Donating to a frocker or

Purchasing a frock in store or online at Gigliola to automatically donate $5

Each dollar goes to Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation who work tirelessly to create an early detection test.

Frocktober is a fun, fashionable way to shine a light on a difficult disease and hopefully get women talking and thinking about any signs or symptoms they may experience such as:

  • Increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating
  • Abdominal or pelvic (lower tummy) pain
  • Feeling full after eating a small amount
  • Needing to urinate often or urgently

Whether you like your dresses classic, boho or bright and bubbly Gigliola has a frock to rock your wardrobe.
